Summertree Golf Course is getting a face-lift! The 30 acre, 9 hole golf course is being restructured, with 8 new greens, 4 new fairways and a new clubhouse in the works. "We're still open for business", says Derek Gravitt, owner/operator. "The current greens and fairways are open for play."

Construction began last month with the cutting of a number of trees. "We were starting to have an issue with pine beetles, so most of the trees we've removed had to go anyway" says Gravitt. "We'll be rebuilding 8 greens and redesigning the course for more challenging play."

The golf course, originally designed and built by Maurice Gravitt, has been a haven for beginning golfers and experienced golfers alike. "My father built this place for the guy who punches a time clock", says Gravitt. " His dream was to have a place where regular folk could afford to play, where kids were welcome and have a place to learn."
